| Our University Signs Agreement with Malaysia's Lincoln University College to Establish Friendly Relations |

On April 14, a delegation led by Professor Amiya Bhaumik, President of Lincoln University College, Malaysia, visited our university. The two sides signed an agreement to establish friendly cooperation relations. President Liu Chuanyong and Vice President Li Shibao attended the signing ceremony and held discussions. During the ceremony, President Liu Chuanyong extended a warm welcome to Professor Amiya Bhaumik and his delegation. He briefly introduced the university’s history, discipline development, talent cultivation, and international cooperation efforts. He noted that Lincoln University College, Malaysia, is a highly influential institution of higher learning in Southeast Asia, with distinctive educational features, a broad international exchange network, and outstanding achievements in fields such as medical education and applied talent cultivation. He emphasized that our university has always adhered to an open education philosophy and is committed to deepening international cooperation. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to establish a long-term cooperative mechanism with Lincoln University College, Malaysia, and to carry out practical cooperation in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, academic seminars, joint course development, and cooperative programs. The goal is to achieve complementary advantages, mutual learning, and jointly enhance the educational quality and international influence of both institutions, thereby contributing to the educational and cultural exchanges as well as the health undertakings of both countries. Professor Amiya Bhaumik introduced the school-running orientation, discipline layout, and international cooperation achievements of Lincoln University College, Malaysia, and spoke highly of our university’s outstanding accomplishments in discipline development, talent cultivation, and medical education. He noted that the two universities share a high degree of complementarity in medical and related fields, have a solid foundation for cooperation, and possess great potential for development. He expressed his expectation to deepen all-round cooperation with our university in the future, jointly create high-quality educational cooperation projects, and achieve mutual benefit and common development. President Liu Chuanyong and Professor Amiya Bhaumik, on behalf of their respective universities, formally signed a memorandum of understanding, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent implementation of cooperation. Medicine, the School of Stomatology, and the School of International Education introduced the educational programs of their respective schools, conducted in-depth discussions on specific cooperation directions and models, and refined the pathways for advancing cooperation. During the visit, the delegation toured the university’s history museum, Clinical Competency Training Center, and Sports and Cultural Activity Center.
Lincoln University College, Malaysia, founded in 2002, is one of the country’s renowned private comprehensive universities. It has been awarded the “5-Star University” rating by the Malaysian Higher Education authorities. In the 2026 QS World University Rankings, it ranks 638th globally, and in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, it is placed in the 401–600 bracket. The university offers over 150 academic programs and comprises 10 faculties, including the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Faculty of Nursing and Applied Sciences. It provides a full educational system covering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, with notable strengths in medicine and health sciences. |
