A delegation led by Dr. Cha Mei, President of China-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CVCC), visited Shandong Second Medical University (SDSMU) on March 27th, 2026. Vice President of SDSMU, Wang Chenggao met with the guests.

Wang extended a welcome to the delegation and introduced SDSMU’s growth, academics, and educational programs. He noted that China and Vietnam are close neighbors connected by mountains and rivers, as well as like-minded partners with a shared future. With deepening of the China-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, both countries have been embracing broader cooperation in education, science and technology, and the humanities. Therefore, Wang hoped that with the Chamber as a platform both the Chamber and SDSMU could expand cooperation in areas such as talent introduction, collaborative scientific and technological innovation, the co-building of Belt and Road joint laboratories, international student programs, and medical and health services, thereby bringing China-Vietnam cultural and academic exchanges to a new level.

In appreciation of the reception, Dr. Cha congratulated SDSMU on its achievements over the past 75 years since its founding. She stated that serving as a bridge, CVCC will deepen educational and cultural exchanges between China and Vietnam, and facilitate Vietnamese universities with cooperation in academic exchanges, TCM global outreach and international Chinese education, making contributions to strengthening the China-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

After the meeting, Dr. Cha and her delegation toured SDSMU’s History Museum.

Directors from Office of Institutional Planning, Office of Faculty and Staff Affairs, Office of Research Administration, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and School of International Education attended the meeting and discussed potential collaboration with the guests respectively.
